Isiah Kiner-Falefa still can't find his car, but he has found home with childhood favorite Yankees

Isiah Kiner-Falefa has found his new home, but he is still looking for his car.

The new Yankees shortstop told reporters via MLB.com on Tuesday that he isn’t sure where his car is after needing to be re-routed multiple times, first being sent to Rangers camp in Arizona, then to Twins camp in Fort Myers, Florida, after he was dealt to the Twins. But after being traded to the Yanks days later in a blockbuster deal that also involved Josh Donaldson, Gary Sanchez, and Gio Urshela, the car needed to once again be re-routed, this time to Yankess camp in Tampa.

But Kiner-Falefa didn’t know where it was as of Tuesday morning.

Still, the athletic shortstop is happy to be with the Yankees, who he revealed was his favorite team growing up.

“I didn't tell any other teams that, that's a red flag if you go in another clubhouse and say you want to be a Yankee,” Kiner-Falefa said.

That made it easier for him to shave off his beard on Monday before reporting to camp.

“If you shave every day, it's like making your bed,” Kiner-Falefa said. “Winners make their bed.”

Kiner-Falefa also revealed that he will wear No. 12 with the Yanks, as his previous No. 9 is in Monument Park in honor of Roger Maris. Why 12? There just aren’t many other numbers left.

“Every number is retired, and that’s a good thing,” Kiner-Falefa said. “That just shows the history, just walking around and seeing all the signs on the walls. I’m a baseball freak. I love the history of this game. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Thurman Munson, just to name a few.”
