Reports: Dallas Keuchel Agrees To Sign With Braves

Dallas Keuchel won't be a Yankee after all.

The Cy Young Award-winning pitcher has agreed to terms with the Atlanta Braves, multiple reports said Thursday night, ending the left-hander's extended free agency. 

Yahoo reported the one-year deal is worth $13 million.

The Yankees had reportedly been in talks with Keuchel, 31, and were even thought to be a front-runner for his services, but the two sides failed to reach a deal. According to WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman, the Yankees offered Keuchel $11 million to $12 million for the rest of the season -- based on the prorated $17.9 million qualifying offer he turned down from the Houston Astros after last season. The Yankees were apparently unwilling to engage in a bidding war for Keuchel.

Yankees had the prorated qualifying offer (11M-12M) for Keuchel on table for a week plus but never came off it.

Keuchel, along with perennial All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel, surprisingly were not signed in the offseason. Teams would have had to forfeit high draft picks to sign them, a requirement that was removed after the first round of this year's draft was held earlier this week. Kimbrel agreed to terms with the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night. 

In seven seasons with the Astros, Keuchel went 76-63 with a 3.66 ERA. Last season, he was 12-11 with a 3.74 ERA.
