Sal & Jerry: Are Yankees growing list of problems solvable at trade deadline?
The Yanks fell 5-4 to the Reds on Tuesday night, and similar trends of concern continued, from a slumping Luis Gil on the mound to a lineup that accomplished very little outside of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto.
Sal and Jerry are both getting that panic button ready in the Bronx.
“This team has not been very good the last three weeks, Sal said. “Nobody outside of Soto or Judge poses any threat. Look at this lineup! Verdugo is not a cleanup hitter…LeMahieu is washed. Grisham and Trevino. These are the Yankees? I’m sorry, they’re not very good.”
Sal also has little faith in the starting rotation right now, a sentiment that Jerry shares, as both are wondering if the Yankees problems are solvable at the trade deadline, as there are issues popping up within the lineup, the bullpen, and now the rotation.
“Cole is coming back, that’s great,” Jerry said. “But when you have question marks now, Luis Gil is a question mark right now. Carlos Rodon was last year, and he continues to be. I don’t know what the hell Nestor Cortes is anymore.”
