Aaron Judge was back in the Yankee lineup on Wednesday after missing more than a week with an abs issue, and quickly drove in Juan Soto with an RBI double in his first at-bat.
Still, Sal isn’t ready to buy into the hype of a healthy Judge putting in a full season like he did in his historic 2022 campaign, considering it “inevitable” that he will miss time at some point.
“To me, odds are against that being the norm, when you already have Judge being banged up this early. What is gonna happen when he starts to play?” Sal said. “He’s getting older, they have him slotted to play in center field. It’s impossible to trust the health of Aaron Judge with all of those factors.”
Sal doesn’t see the hyped Soto/Judge duo getting to hit together for a full season, and while Wednesday’s game showed plenty of promise, Sal isn’t ready to buy in.
“I trust when he’s out there, he’s going to mash,” Sal said. “His health has been in question, and I don’t know how you can feel confident about that just off of seeing him in one game.”
