BT is still holding out hope for the Yankees to continue their run and somehow sneak into the playoffs, while Sal declared he would quit his job if that ever happened.
After another Yankee win on Wednesday to cut their Wild Card deficit to 6.5 games, Sal isn’t sweating things in the slightest, instead teasing his co-host for having hope that the miracle can actually happen.
“That was a cute win for your boys last night, BT,” Sal said. “What a nice, little cute win. These Yankees are fun. These young Yankees, these new Baby Bombers, whatever you want to call them. Nice little cute win, thinking that they’re getting back into it.
“You think the Yankees are gonna make the playoffs! I love it!”
BT said the trolling was a front for Sal actually being worried about having to give up his seat, but Sal doesn’t seem to think the Yankees are for real at all.
“I’m not nervous at all. My job is safe,” Sal said. “You know I said I’d quit if the Yankees made the postseason. I’m not worried at all!
“The little-engine-that-could Yankees, over .500! Dude, come on. it’s not happening. Give it up! The Yankees are losers this year. It’s okay, it happens…there are still three teams in front of you. This is a cute little run by the new Baby Bombers.”
