Sal not impressed at all by Yankees series win: 'They look like crap again'

The Yankees pulled out a thrilling win in extra innings on Wednesday night, taking the series from the likely playoff bound Royals in the Bronx.

Despite the win, Sal was hardly impressed about the Bombers getting the victory and extending their lead in the AL East.

“Come on. They look like crap again,” Sal said. “Oh yeah, they won the game. Congratulations. Oh yeah, they won the series. Once again, Juan Soto masking their flaws.

“How was Clay Holmes? And Luis Gil didn’t look great.”

BT countered with the fact that the Yanks took two of three from a likely playoff team, but Sal continued to maintain that the Bombers have looked chronically mediocre since June, and they don’t look anything like a team that is built for a deep playoff run.

“So what? You think that’s a big deal? They couldn’t score a run in Chicago,” Sal said. “I understand the win is important. I still think the Yankees, overall, look like crap.

“They backed into a win. Congratulations. It took extra innings and a Soto bomb. Soto and Judge had been masking a lot of the Yankees’ flaws. Clay Holmes blew another one. Offense again inconsistent.”
