Aaron Judge told reporters on Thursday that he will take it “day by day” with whether he takes swings on Friday and returns to spring training game action on Saturday, and that he is feeling “great” despite sitting out with discomfort after undergoing an MRI on his abs.
Still, Sal isn’t buying it.
“I call BS,” Sal said. “I don’t think he’s gonna play Saturday.
“If you were feeling good, you would have been playing. You wouldn’t have been taken out of the game the other day, you wouldn’t have been pulled from BP…you’d be in the lineup Friday, today, Saturday, all of the above. This is spring training. It’s not August where you’re dealing with certain things physically.”
Aaron Boone said Judge is “penciled in” the Yankees lineup on Saturday, but given how the past week has gone, and much of Judge’s career when it comes to injuries, Sal isn’t expecting to see the Yankee superstar swinging a bat this weekend, and maybe even not on Opening Day.
“You’re not worried about Judge?” Sal said. “He’s banged up now, what about when the season starts and he’s actually playing games?”
