Sal sick of Yankees selling 'nonsense' with struggling players looking great in spring training

On the anniversary of the Yankees trading for Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Sal called out the trade as one of the worst the Yanks ever made, and the bigger picture of the team showing relentless belief in players when it doesn’t seem warranted.

Donaldson and Kiner-Falefa are among those that Sal says the Yankees continued to hype up despite no reason to support that belief, and Sal says it has continued this spring.

“The Yankees are either delusional, or they just flat-out lie,” Sal said. “Whether it’s the injuries or belief in a certain player. Josh Donaldson last year, Giancarlo Stanton this year, Carlos Rodon this year. Everybody’s great, everybody’s gonna be awesome, everybody’s perfect…meanwhile, in reality, all they do is fail, get hurt, and underperform.

“It’s ridiculous, the nonsense that they sell us.”

The Yankees clearly believe in their own, but sometimes, whether it be Gary Sanchez or Aaron Hicks, that belief backfires after continued slumps and poor play. Sal says it happens far too often, and needs to stop.
