Now that the Yankees have added a starting pitcher after bolstering their outfield with Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo, Tiki says Brian Cashman and company should be praised for putting together a strong offseason.
“The Yankees have had a pretty good offseason,” Tiki said. “I’m trying to think of the teams that are better than them, and I can only think of one, because they spent a billion dollars. That’s the LA Dodgers.
“Everyone else is in the same little mosh pot. The Yankees trading for Juan Soto and signing a middle-of-the-rotation starter, what else can you ask for? The Yankees have done exactly what they needed to do this offseason.”
Evan believes there is more work to be done, specifically with the rotation, but he also says that the Yankees are showing a motivation to wash away the frustration from 2023, so much so that Cashman put previous feuds with Stroman on the backburner for the sake of making the team better.
“Your general manager made a move that was best for business, and put personal feelings aside,” Evan said. “And I respect that.”
