Brandon Tierney says the 2022 Yankees have hit a new low, and not just on paper with their recent putrid play.
BT says the Yanks have lost the fanbase as they continue to struggle since the All-Star break.
“The Yankee fan has now officially turned on this team and does not like them,” BT said. “Yankee fans are officially disconnected from this team.
“I thought David Cone said something so profound…and he’s right. ‘Fans want to cheer but they are ready to boo.’”
How has it come to this? Tiki says it is more like a return to what it felt like in the very early parts of the regular season, before the Yankees took off on a pace that rivaled the 1998 team, but has now reverted back to looking much more like 2021 than the late 90s.
“They look anemic. So anemic,” Tiki said. “I remember in the beginning of the season talking about how they felt boring…it’s gone back to that, unfortunately. More importantly, it’s gotten to the point where you don’t have faith anymore. I think it’s gotten to the point where Yankee fans have faith that they aren’t going to get things turned around.
“You can only scream so many times, ‘Just hit!’ before it starts getting tiresome for you and you just toss your hands up and say, ‘OK, I guess you’ll start hitting when you feel like it.’”
