Tiki: Aaron Judge is somehow underappreciated in New York
While debating SNY’s list of the top 10 athletes in New York right now, Tiki and Morash discussed the legacy of Aaron Judge, who they agree is still somehow underappreciated in the Big Apple despite his superstardom and being the captain of one of the most iconic brands in professional sports.
“You look at Aaron Judge, and we honestly don’t appreciate him enough,” Tiki said. “We don’t appreciate that he has 34 home runs at the break, is hitting over .300…he’s amazing.
“We’re almost used to it. ‘Aaron Judge hit a home run, of course, he’s supposed to hit a home run, we count on him to hit home runs. Good job.’”
Morash says it is the nature of Yankee fans to lose appreciation for their stars unless they win a title, as anything less than a World Series is looked upon as a failure, while Jalen Brunson and his Knicks were widely praised for the season they had after being bounced in the second round.
“The nature of the Yankee fanbase leans negative,” Morash said.
