Trevor Bauer has mastered the art of the troll on Twitter, but at this point, his antics have almost turned into a whistle stop tour of sorts for the pending free agent hurler.

Moments after the conclusion of the Yankees’ loss to the Rays Wednesday night, in which pending free agent Masahiro Tanaka turned in a second consecutive sub-optimal outing by a pinstriped starter, Bauer took to Twitter with this message:


Two hours later, as the Dodgers-Padres NLDS nail biter was wrapping up, though, Bauer said something similar about the starter-strapped Friars, who are down their top two starters right now:

To be fair to both teams, and Bauer, though, the NL Cy Young favorite has a history of tossing out cookies like this on Twitter; earlier this week, in the span of 24 hours, he tweeted a pic of his boarding pass for a flight from Phoenix to Boston saying “hey Red Sox, you up?”; replied to a fan Tweet about leaving the Reds with “who says I’m not going to be around next year?”; and also responded to a fan’s pitch for coming to the Cubs involving increasing his YouTube reach with “but can you guarantee this though?”

One thing is clear: wherever Bauer ends up in 2021, that team’s Twitter is going to gain someone with one hell of a social media buzz.
