Boomer & Gio investigate: Who was Blue Jays manager calling 'fat boy' on Yankees?

The Yankees and Blue Jays coaches were jawing back and forth on Tuesday night, both sides calling for the umpires to order the base coaches back into their designated boxes after Monday’s controversy involving Aaron Judge.

Toronto head coach John Schneider told reporters after Tuesday’s game that his coaches were being more playful about it, but Gio wasn’t buying that.

“I think they were genuinely pissed off at one another,” Gio said.

In fact, Schneider seemed to clearly say, ‘Shut up, fat boy’ to someone in the direction of the Yankee dugout when the two sides were going at it in the third inning, after the Blue Jays called for New York third base coach Luis Rojas to get back in his designated area.

Boomer and Gio went through the tape to investigate and find the coveted answer to the question: who was Schneider calling “fat boy?”

“Now, he was originally yelling at Luis Rojas, but Luis Rojas was then to his left,” Gio said, as the crew wondered if he had been talking to Aaron Boone, as Boone had then come out of the dugout. “But there’s no way he’s gonna call Boone ‘fat boy,’ especially John Schneider, who is a good seven pounds heavier.”

Another theory on social media was that Schneider had actually said ‘shut up frat boy,’ and that it could have been directed at Harrison Bader, but Boomer and Gio weren’t buying it. Schneider seemingly clearly said “fat boy,” but they couldn’t figure out who he would have been saying it to.
