With the MLB playoffs approaching, and the Yankees not going to be a part of it, it’s time for C-Mac to decide what team he will root for this October.
The choice might surprise you, because the choice is…the Houston Astros.
“It’s simple, to tell you why: I want to slay the dragon,” C-Mac said. “I want to be the ones to beat this team and embarrass them, and I want the dragon as strong as ever when I do it.
“I hope they get hot and I hope they win it all, because I want to rip them apart and I don’t want to see anybody else do it. The last thing I want is to see some lousy team in the first round.”
The Astros have knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs four times since 2015, the last three coming in the ALCS, singlehandedly keeping the Bombers’ pennant drought alive. Should they win this year, they would be the first team since the 1999-2000 Yankees to repeat as world champs.
Still, C-Mac wants to see them hoisting the trophy come early November.
“I want to see them go through it and win it again,” C-Mac said. “And next year, I want to see the Yankees take them down.”
