Aaron Boone told MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch that the team’s mental skills coach sent the team video highlights of the 2004 Red Sox to help motivate the Yankees to believe that overcoming a 3-0 ALCS deficit is possible.

You read that right.

The darkest time in franchise history is now being used as a rallying cry for the present Yankees, who would have seen in those videos clips of the Red Sox celebrating on the field at Yankee Stadium in front of a stunned crowd.

Needless to say, the reaction by Yankee fans and across MLB Twitter was not a friendly one.
