Aaron Boone not worried about sting of game three loss bleeding into game four: 'Hell no. Not allowed to'

The Yankees just suffered one of their worst playoff losses in their rich postseason history on Saturday night, and will have to take the field again in less than 24 hours to fight to save their season.

Aaron Boone didn’t want to hear any questions about his team potentially still carrying the sting of Saturday’s walk-off loss with them into Sunday’s game four.

“Hell no,” Boone said. “Not allowed to. We'll be ready to go.

“We're obviously up against it but I still love our chances. We've got Gerrit [Cole] going tomorrow. We've got to go take care of business and try and get back to New York.”

The Yankees will have their ace on the mound, as Cole will almost certainly need to give the Yanks length to avoid using a shorthanded and taxed bullpen that couldn’t get the job done on Saturday.

Still, the Yanks are keeping an atmosphere of optimism, even after a loss that Boone described as “gut-wrenching.”

“We've been dealing with adversity all year long,” Aaron Judge said. “This is nothing new to us.”
