C-Mac: Aaron Boone's reputation clearly plays a role in his quick ejections

Aaron Boone told reporters on Monday that he doesn’t believe he has a reputation around the league of being a hothead manager who gets tossed more than any other skipper in baseball, and doesn’t see any reputation playing in a role in him getting a quick hook on Monday by Hunter Wendelstedt.

C-Mac says Boone is sorely mistaken.

“Aaron, there is no doubt that the amount of games you have been thrown out for…the amount of times you have problems with the umpires is without question turning them against you,” C-Mac said. “I don’t care, it’s your money…you’re still pulling the strings from the dugout…but there is no question that umpires have a shorter leash with Boone because of his antics and because of the number of times he’s been thrown out, and the reputation he’s built up around baseball.

“They know you, they’re aware, they want to put an end to it.”
