Aaron Judge on 60 home runs: 'Something I don't take lightly at all'

As many have already realized since watching Aaron Judge introduce himself to Yankee fans with a home run in his first big-league at-bat, the homegrown superstar never is one to talk about his personal accomplishments.

So after hitting his 60th home run of the season on Tuesday night, another milestone that puts him alongside Babe Ruth, Judge was still keeping his focus on the team and not paying attention to the numbers.

But the round number of 60 was profound enough for Judge to acknowledge the history tied to that total.

“You talk about Ruth, Maris, and Mantle, and all these Yankee greats who did so many great things in this game, you never imagine as a kid getting mentioned with them,” Judge said.

“It’s an incredible honor, and something I don’t take lightly at all.”

Of course, Judge then reverted right back to his regularly scheduled programming.

“We’re not done,” Judge quickly said. “We still got a couple games left in this season, and hopefully a couple more wins come with them.”
