Fan who high-fived Aaron Judge after 57th home run wasn't supposed to be at game

Nineteen-year-old Cecilia Jacobs wasn’t supposed to be at Fenway Park for Tuesday’s Yankees/Red Sox game, but her friend’s uncle couldn’t go to the game, leaving the tickets to her niece Lucy Nuttall, and Jacobs.

That was a stroke of good fortune for Jacobs, who became the highlight of the night with a priceless reaction to a high-five from Aaron Judge after the Yankee slugger belted his second home run of the night and 57th of the season.

The video quickly began making its rounds on social media, showing Judge celebrating the home run with his teammates while Jacobs stood in front of her seat right next to the Yankee dugout, holding her hand out for a high-five that didn’t come after Judge’s first home run.

This time, it did, and Jacobs’ priceless reaction made the video an instant candidate to go viral. Not bad for a social media marketing intern.

“I’ll probably tell my boss about this,” Jacobs said, via Chad Jennings of The Athletic.

Jacobs caught the moment on her own phone as well, though the picture blurred as Judge game up and gave her a high-five. But she can watch the video everyone else saw on Tuesday night.

“We tried for the high-five the first time and it didn’t come through,” Jacobs told Jennings. “But then the second time he came through, and I just freaked out.”
