Aaron Judge insists he hasn't found his swing yet after another multi-home run game

Aaron Judge enjoyed his second multi-home run game in the past nine days in Sunday’s comeback win, and since that first two-homer day, has gone deep seven the times in a span of eight games.

But the Yankee slugger insists he still hasn’t found his top-form swing just yet.

“Same spot. I struck out two times on some bad swings,” Judge said Sunday after helping the Yanks win their ninth in a row. “But the guys picked us up…this offense, just give it time. The guys up and down the lineup are doing their work and having some quality at-bats.”

Judge has been putting up some quality at-bats himself of late. After a slow start, at least to Judge’s standards, over his first 12 games, he has raised his season batting average to an even .300 with a 1.026 OPS, and with his recent home run surge, is just one behind Anthony Rizzo for the team lead.

Yet he still insists that he is far from his peak self, a scary reality for opposing pitchers.

“It’s just results, man,” Judge said of his two homers on Sunday, the first a no-doubter to dead center that traveled 453 feet. “I’m focused on the process and what I gotta do. I could go 4-for-4, 0-for-4, but it’s just about me just trying to hammer out this process and get it done.

“But that’s why we have a long season. Got to keep improving.”

Judge’s reluctance to acknowledge his hot streak begs the question: would he even admit if and when he ever feels he has his best swing working?

“Maybe, we’ll see,” Judge said. “We’ll see when it comes.”
