Aaron Judge after walk-off: 'If it ends this year or it doesn't, I'll soak up every memory'

Aaron Judge enjoyed another magical night at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, and with each moment of jubilation, Yankee fans, and even Judge, are left to wonder: will this be one of the last memorable keepsakes in pinstripes?

With Judge’s Yankee future very much an uncertainty as he heads closer to free agency, Judge said after his walk-off home run that if it was one of the final big moments in New York, where he has been the face of the franchise since 2017, then he will have enjoyed the ride.

“I’ve been here for six years now,” Judge said. “Came through the system. We've got a deep connection, some good highs and some definitely lows. But I I'll definitely enjoy our time here. If it ends this year or it doesn't, I'll soak up every memory just like tonight.”

It’s likely not what Yankee fans want to hear, but with no contract extension after turning down the team’s preseason offer, there is not much else for Judge to say, since there is the possibility he is playing his final season in New York. But it was a somber reminder after his third walk-off blast of the season.
