Yankees acquire RHP Angel Chivilli from Rockies

The New York Yankees today announced that they have acquired right-handed pitcher Angel Chivilli from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for minor league infielder T.J. Rumfield.

Chivilli, 23, went 1-5 with one save and a 7.06 ERA (58.2IP, 76H, 49R/46ER, 23BB, 43K, 13HR) in 43 relief appearances with the Rockies in 2025. He also made 10 relief appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque, going 0-1 with a 7.00 ERA (9.0IP, 10H, 7R/ER, 2BB, 10K, 0HR).

In 73 career relief appearances over parts of two Major League seasons with the Colorado Rockies (2024-25), the right-hander has gone 3-8 with one save and a 6.18 ERA (90.1IP, 107H, 66R/62ER, 33BB, 71K, 20HR). The La Victoria, D.R., native was originally signed by Colorado as a non-drafted free agent on July 30, 2018.

Rumfield, 25, has batted .271/.365/.431 (419-for-1,544) with 247R, 88 doubles, 1 triple, 52HR, 260RBI, 209BB and 21SB in 430 games over parts of five minor league seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies (2021) and Yankees (2022-25) organizations. In 2025, Rumfield batted .285/.378/.447 (142-for-499) with 85R, 31 doubles, 1 triple, 16HR, 87RBI, 70BB and 5SB in 138 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He was originally selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 12th round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of Virginia Tech. The Richmond, Va., native was acquired by the Yankees from the Philadelphia Phillies along with LHP Joel Valdez in exchange for RHP Nick Nelson and C Donny Sands on November 19, 2021.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees have designated OF Michael Siani for assignment.
