The Yankees have finally filled the Voit.
Luke Voit has been activated off the injured list, and he is expected to be in the Yankees' starting lineup at first base for their series opener in Tampa Tuesday night.
Voit had knee surgery shortly before the end of spring training to repair a torn meniscus, and missed the Yankees’ first 34 games. He began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when their season began, and in five games, Voit was 7-for-18 with three home runs, six RBI, and three walks, slashing .389/.476/1.000 in 21 plate appearances.
The Yankees optioned Miguel Andujar, who was 0-for-9 in three games and made one start each at first and third base, back to Triple-A after Sunday’s game to open a roster spot.
