Yankees announce their six participants for the Arizona Fall League

The Yankees have announced their participants for this year’s Arizona Fall League.

Per the team, RHPs Harrison Cohen, Jackson Fristoe, and Ryan Harvey, catcher Rafael Flores, infielder Caleb Durbin, and outfielder Garrett Martin will be headed to play for the Salt River Rafters, while High-A Hudson Valley Defensive Coach Derek Woodley will be part of the coaching staff.

Cohen, 25, was an undrafted free agent out of George Washington in 2022, and missed the first three months of this season due to injury.
He ended up making 18 appearances (one start) across three levels, the highest being Hudson Valley, and he was 5-0 with a 1.35 ERA and 29 K in 26 2/3 innings.

Fristoe, 23, was a 12th-round pick out of Mississippi State in 2022. He made 12 starts for Hudson Valley earlier this season, going 1-3 with a 3.78 ERA and 40 K in 38 innings, but he went on the IL on June 26 and missed the remainder of the season.

Harvey, 23, was an 11th-round pick in 2022 out of UC-Santa Barbara. He went 2-4 with a 6.03 ERA and 35K in 31 1/3 innings for Single-A Tampa this season before going on the IL in mid-June and missing the remainder of the season.

Flores, 23, was an undrafted free agent signing out of Rio Hondo College in California in 2022 and ended up as Baseball America’s Yankees Minor League Player of the Year for 2024. He split this season between Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset, slashing  .279/.379/.495 with 21 home runs, 68 RBI, 67 runs, 31 doubles, and 66 walks in 122 games – ranking second in doubles, home runs, XBH, and total bases as well as fifth in RBI, slugging, and OPS among Yankees farmhands.

Durbin, 24, was acquired from the Braves in the Lucas Luetge deal in Dec. 2022, and will be headed to Arizona for the second straight year.
This season, he slashed .275/.388/.451 with 10 home runs, 60 RBI, 25 doubles, 53 walks, and 31 steals in 90 games across three levels, with his 31 steals fifth among Yankees farmhands despite missing more than two months due to an injury.

He was an AFL Fall Star in 2023, as he slashed .353/.456/.588 with three homers, 12 RBI, 14 BB, 18 runs nine doubles, and an AFL-leading 21 steals in 23 games.

Martin, 24, was an undrafted free agent out of Austin Peay in 2024, and he hit .216 with 12 homers, 43 RBI, 34 walks, 50 runs, and 17 steals in 87 games at Hudson Valley.

Woodley has spent both of his two seasons in the organization as the Renegades’ defensive coach.

The Arizona Fall League season runs Oct. 7-Nov. 14, with the play-in semifinals and league championship game to be held on Nov. 15 and 16.
