Harrison Bader had another solid night in center field for the Yankees on Thursday, and Boomer just wants to know where the apologies are for Brian Cashman, who traded for Bader at the trade deadline.
“Oh, really?” Boomer said condescendingly. “Brian Cashman got the right guy.”
That ticked off Gio.
“If they don’t win the World Series, Brian Cashman is gonna be roasted,” Gio said. “When Altuve sticks his foot right up Gerrit Cole’s ass in the ALCS, guess who’s gonna suck again? Brian Cashman. None of it matters!”
Gio is sick of hearing Boomer go right back to Cashman praise any time one of his acquisitions does anything productive, when there are plenty of other examples of the contrary.
“Aaron Hicks could be one for his next 200,” Gio said. “You’d be like, ‘Oh, look at that? Who signed him to a long-term deal?’”
