The Yankees are set to introduce Marcus Stroman as the newest member of their starting rotation, and according to Brendan Kuty of The Athletic, it will likely be the last introductory press conference for a new starting pitcher this winter.
Per Kuty, the Yanks are done adding starting pitchers, as the asking price from free agents Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery, and the trade demands for the likes of Corbin Burnes and Dylan Cease, have turned the organization off. So, Stroman will likely be the only addition to the rotation for 2024.
As a result, the Yankees have now turned their attention to the bullpen, as a couple relief additions could be it for this offseason, a crucial one after a disastrous 82-80 finish in 2023.
Wandy Peralta and Josh Hader are notable free agent bullpen arms that the Yankees could pursue, with Hader being the best available and Peralta having the familiarity in New York.
If the starting rotation is indeed finished, it will feature Gerrit Cole as the ace, followed by Carlos Rodon, Stroman, Nestor Cortes, and likely Clarke Schmidt.
