In a potential major Yankees injury nightmare, Gerrit Cole is headed for an MRI on his right elbow, as Aaron Boone told reporters that the reigning Cy Young winner is not bouncing back from his spring outing as he typically does.
Cole, the unquestioned Yankee ace, as been as durable as they come since signing with the Yanks, and seemed to be the only pitcher in the rotation that didn’t come with a question mark. Now, he could be the biggest one of all.
Meanwhile, Boone told reporters that Aaron Judge is sitting out of spring training action until Wednesday, revealing that the superstar is “beat up” from his current spring training workload after being pulled after two at-bats in Sunday’s game.
Once again, injuries are at the forefront of Yankees spring training.
