MLB Twitter crowns Joey Gallo 2023 MVP after league announces shift ban

The shift has officially been banned in Major League Baseball starting in 2023, and not surprisingly, the Joey Gallo jokes came out in full force immediately after the announcement.

MLB Twitter has crowned the former Yankee and pull-happy lefty as the 2023 MVP now that he won’t have to worry about pulling the ball into a shifted infield, and even sometimes against a four-man outfield.

Gallo has already found more success in Los Angeles than he ever did with the Yanks, but he could take it to another level next year when only two infielders can be on the right side of second base.
