BT rips Josh Donaldson: 'He draws a walk and does a bat flip like he did something good'

Josh Donaldson finally came through for the Yankees in his first at-bat of game two, lacing a double to right field, but that came after four straight multi-strikeout games, including three punchouts in a lifeless game one.

Brandon Tierney may have softened up to Donaldson after sending an extra-base hit to the opposite field on Thursday night, but after game one, he was ripping into the struggling veteran.

“He was so inept, he was so professional substandard last night, that guy could have been in the batter’s box for four hours and not hit a foul ball,” BT said.

“He draws a walk and does a bat flip like he did something good. He rips off the shin guards, the armor, ‘Oh, look at me.’”

The former MVP struggled all season at the plate despite being a strong defender at the hot corner, but by the end of game one, BT said it was time for the Yankees to make a change. Aaron Boone somewhat listened, moving him down in the lineup in game two.

“Josh Donaldson has had a really good career,” BT said. “But there is no chance in hell the Yankees are gonna win this series if they keep trotting out that slop.”
