Luis Severino was asked about the hostile environment he could face in Houston in game two of the ALCS when he takes the mound, and his response threw some major shade towards the Rays fanbase.

“I mean, everywhere we go we're not liked, so it's not always, it's not here, it's everywhere, so it's going to be the same,” Severino said. “You know, if we go to, I mean, Boston, every year is the same. We go to -- the only place that they really likes us a little bit is Tampa because they don't have a lot of fans there.”

The Rays are infamous for their low payroll, rough home venue in Tropicana Field, and struggles to draw big crowds. Yet they have consistently remained competitive and a thorn in the Yankees’ side before the Bombers took care of the Rays this season to win the AL East.

Still, Severino made sure to give the lack of interest in the team a little jab when discussing what he would face against the Astros and their fans.

“I mean, it's like that everywhere we go, so I think we're used to it and we embrace that,” Severino said. “They just don't like us because they think we're good and we can win.”
