The Yankees were busy on Monday, bolstering the rotation and the bullpen via trades with the A’s and Cubs.
The first deal of the day, acquiring righty sidearm reliever Scott Effross, who holds a 2.66 ERA and a strikeout rate of nearly 30 percent, was one that Sal and Gio agree was a home run for Brian Cashman.
“That trade may end up being the best one the Yankees make, honestly,” Gio said. “This is a guy who has had a really good year for the Cubs.”
Sal wasn’t happy about it from the scope of a Mets fan, as he team entered Tuesday afternoon having made no big moves despite being in first place.
“Cashman and the Yankees are running circles around the Mets,” Sal said.
