C-Mac: Brian Cashman, Yankees missed assignment that 2024 is an all-in season

C-Mac says the Yankees seem to have missed the assignment with the Orioles getting Corbin Burnes.

The Yanks seem to have forgotten that 2024 is supposed to be an all-in season, because ever since they acquired Juan Soto, they haven’t been acting like a team that is making an all-out push for a title.

“All of these guys are free agents after this year: Juan Soto, Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres, Alex Verdugo, Clay Holmes, Jonathan Loaisiga,” C-Mac said. “This is the perfect time to go all in on this year. You’re gonna say goodbye to Rizzo, there’s a good chance you say goodbye to Verdugo. You’ve seen how the Yankees treat relievers.

“With all of those free agents coming off the books, they have a chance to put all of their chips in the 2024 basket, and then figure it out.”

C-Mac says the Yankees should have been all over Burnes, especially for the price he was gotten for by Baltimore. That would have been the move of a team that is going all in on a World Series in 2024. Instead, C-Mac sees an “underwhelming” offseason for a team that needed to do a lot more.

“This is the World Series year for the Yankees,” C-Mac said. “Off of that disgusting year last year, in the middle of Judge and Cole’s prime, you have to get to the World Series. I don’t care about next year, I’ll worry about that when it comes. I wanted Burnes this year. I don’t care if you gave up prospects and he leaves in free agency. I’ll worry about that next year.

“I think the Yankees blew it…Where the hell was Cashman?”
