Yankees want to be part of first MLB game in France: Report

Could the Yankees soon showcase their talents outside the United States once again?

According to the Associated Press, the Bronx Bombers have told Major League Baseball that they want to be one of the teams to play in MLB’s first game in continental Europe when the league showcases a game at the Stade de France in 2025.

Per the AP, no decisions on that event have been made yet, as the league is still focusing on its new-look 2023 schedule, where all teams will play each other with less divisional head-to-head games.

The stadium in France, located outside of Paris, seats roughly 80,000 people and was built for the 1998 World Cup.

The Yanks are already familiar with playing overseas and outside of the country, having played two games against the Red Sox in London in 2019, a wild offensive showcase that saw 50 total runs scored. They also opened the 2004 season in Tokyo.
