BT is holding out hope that the Yankees can nab a Blake Snell on the free agent market to really solidify the starting rotation for 2024, which would complete an all-in push for a title.
If the Yankees don’t grab Snell or another impact arm, BT says it means the all-in mantra of the offseason loses a lot of luster.
“Well then they’re not serious about winning a World Series,” BT said. “If nothing else comes…the Yankees now are really good right now. I can’t say they’re really in line to win a World Series until they spruce up the rotation. So if they don’t do anything, how can you tell me they can win the World Series?”
C-Mac, filling in for Sal, disagreed with that take, but BT says it’s hard to envision the Yanks ending their World Series drought if the staff behind Gerrit Cole is a pair of unknowns in Carlos Rodon and Nestor Cortes, Marcus Stroman, and Clarke Schmidt.
“I love what they’ve done offensively,” BT said. “But with this staff?”
