The Yankees reportedly still had two “starting players” that were unvaccinated as of this past weekend, but Jon Heyman reports that those players have since received the shot, and New York will have its full roster when it heads to Toronto on May 2.
Unvaccinated players were a concern for teams like the Yanks, who are scheduled to play in Toronto, where unvaccinated players are not allowed to play at the Rogers Centre, nine times this season. Given how competitive the Blue Jays and the AL East as a whole appears to be this season, it was imperative that the Yanks have all of their weapons in those divisional matchups, and now, it appears they will.
Aaron Judge had been rumored to be one of the team’s unvaccinated players, and he declined to comment on the subject before the season, when home game eligibility for unvaccinated individuals was in question before New York City mayor Eric Adams adjusted the private sector mandate.
But it appears all of that is now behind the Yankees, who should have all hands on deck when it comes time to head to Toronto.
