Sal and Jerry on 'horrendous' Yankee offense: 'I don't know if there's a fix'

The Yankees are in a freefall, and their lead in the AL East is the smallest it has been in over two months.

The offense looks lifeless, having scored just nine runs over their last seven games, and, as Jerry put it, the lineup looks “horrendous” of late.

So, what can be done? The Yanks have reportedly called up Estevan Florial and Oswaldo Cabrera, but Sal doesn’t see any real solutions other than the current bats waking up.

“I don’t know if there’s a fix,” Sal said. “They can bring up guys like [Estevan] Florial, but there’s nothing you can do. At this point, these guys gotta get the job done.

“I know getting Stanton back will help, Carpenter is a ways off, LeMahieu…you’re not gonna get him back for a while. So Giancarlo Stanton will be the savior? I’m not so sure. He’ll help, but I’m not so sure he will be.”

Neither Sal nor Jerry are certain that Stanton’s return alone will shock the Yankee lineup back into coherence, but once he does return, Jerry says he can’t afford to take days off.

“When he comes back, just DH, him,” Jerry said. “Because he has to play every day.”
