Yankees offensive numbers since Aaron Judge injury are not pretty, among worst in MLB

The Yankee offense was once again a no-show in Sunday’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of the Red Sox, as the Bombers continue to struggle mightily without Aaron Judge, who still has no timetable for a return from his toe injury.

With fill-ins like Billy McKinney and Willie Calhoun tasked with regular roles, and veterans like Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton, and DJ LeMahieu not hitting since Judge’s injury, the result has been some flat-out ugly numbers since Judge crashed into the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium.

In fact, the Yanks arguably have the worst offense in baseball since Judge’s injury, and the numbers back that up.

Since June 4, the team’s first game after Judge injured his toe, the Yankees have a league-worst batting average of .195, the only team in baseball batting below .500 in that span. The Yanks also easily have the worst on-base percentage in that span at just .255, well below the next worst team in the Nationals at .273.

The power in the lineup has also completely disappeared without Judge, as the Yankees’ .344 slugging percentage is the second worst mark in the league, better than only the lowly Royals.

The offense likely isn’t turning around any time soon until the big bats expected to complement Judge wake up, but Anthony Rizzo is batting just .089 since he banged up his neck on June 2, while Giancarlo Stanton is hitting just .132 since coming off the IL.
