Great news for those still awaiting Aaron Judge’s 61st and/or 62nd home runs: you’ll be able to consume Friday’s game on radio, streaming video…and cable television!
The YES Network announced Wednesday night that the Yankees-Orioles game on Friday night, scheduled to be the final Amazon Prime game of the season, will also be broadcast on the YES Network. Coverage will begin at 6:30 on both Amazon Prime and YES, with the game set for first pitch shortly after 7 p.m.
The game will also, of course, be on WFAN, with pregame starting at 6:25 and John & Suzyn taking you through the game just after 7 p.m. as well.
Judge hit his 60th home run of the season last Tuesday in the ninth inning of the Yankees’ walk-off win over Pittsburgh, but entered Wednesday’s finale in Toronto on a seven-game homerless streak and counting (he was 0-1 with a walk through two innings of Wednesday’s game).
Of course, there was a bit of an uproar last week after Judge’s 60th, as the Yankees had games on FOX national TV, Apple TV+, and ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, all of which took the YES broadcast team away from three potential chances to be on the call of history.
Fans, admittedly selfishly, surely also held out hope Judge would come home to Yankee Stadium still seeking history, so that it could come in the Bronx - and now, should Judge not hit 61 and/or 62 in the remainder of Wednesday’s game, you will have the crews you’ve heard all season on the call on both TV and radio!
