Oswaldo Cabrera might still be getting used to hitting in big-league ballparks.
The Yankee youngster stepped in as the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the ninth on Monday night, and sent a drive out to deep center field for what he seemed to, at least initially, think was ticketed for a two-run home run to put the Yanks on top.
Cabrera held his follow through, flipped his bat to the ground, and began his jog to first, but the ball was caught on the run at the warning track by Mike Trout in one of the deepest parts of the park.
Instead of a home run, it was a game-ending out to seal the Yankees’ third straight loss.
“That’s embarrassing,” Sal said during Tuesday’s show.
Cabrera is still searching for his first big-league home run.
