For the second time in as many nights, the lone bright spot for the Yankees was Oswaldo Cabrera.
The recent call-up got the start in right field on Friday night, his third different position in as many nights to start his big-league career, and just his second start in right field since the start of his minor league career.
How did Cabrera respond to his first experience in the Yankee Stadium outfield? On the first at-bat of the game, Cabrera leaped and stretched his glove over the right field wall to rob what would have been a home run off the bat of Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the top of the first.
A visibly pumped up Cabrera received a loud ovation from the Bronx crowd, which promptly had nothing to cheer about the rest of the way.
Cabrera also logged another hit after his two-hit night on Thursday, which included the first hit of his big-league career.
