Carlos Rodon is going back on the IL, and will miss more time in his debut season with the Yankees.
The Yanks announced Monday afternoon that the struggling lefty has been placed on the 15-day IL with a left hamstring strain, a fallout from Sunday’s rough outing against the Astros, when Rodon served up two home runs before leaving the game with hamstring tightness.
Rodon told reporters after the game that he hoped he wouldn’t have to miss time, but after missing the first half of the season with a back issue, the $162 million signing is back on the IL.
Returning from the IL is Jonathan Loaisiga, who has been reinstated from the 60-day IL, and lefty reliever Nick Ramirez, who was recalled from Triple-A.
In another roster move, pitcher Deivi Garcia was designated for assignment.
