The New York Yankees have placed outfielder Clint Frazier on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to July 1 with vertigo, and added newly-acquired outfielder Tim Locastro to the 26-man roster.
Frazier left Wednesday night’s game against the Angels in the second inning due to dizziness, and manager Aaron Boone said Friday afternoon that Frazier is undergoing a battery of tests but the team is not yet sure what is causing his condition.
“He’s really been going through it all day,” Boone said, “but it was that second inning (Wednesday) where he complained of dizziness coming off the field, so we started that battery of tests and it’s been pretty extensive.”
Locastro was acquired on Thursday from the Diamondbacks, and the Yankees had an open 40-man roster for him. The 28-year-old slashed .178/.271/.220 with one home run for Arizona this season, and is technically in his second stint in the organization, as he was acquired from the Dodgers in November 2018 for RHP Drew Finley, but was designated for assignment and dealt to Arizona two months later.
