C-Lo says Yankees rotation is littered with 'legitimate question marks'

On paper, Jerry is feeling good about the Yankees’ top three rotation arms in Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodon, and Nestor Cortes heading into the 2024 season.

C-Lo doesn’t share that optimism, given the track records of two of those arms.

“Two of the three you’ve got, at this moment in time, major questions on,” C-Lo said. “Legitimate question marks. We just came through a season where Rodon was unavailable for a while.”

Rodon, who has battled injuries in the past, missed the entire first half of his debut season in New York, while Cortes battled injuries this season before shoulder surgery eventually ended his season.

“Cortes, since the 2022 All-Star Game, has had a lot of injury concerns,” C-Lo said. “I’m just being real.”

The Yankees will desperately need Rodon and Cortes to be reliable behind Cole in 2024, as the back end of the rotation, at this point, remains fragile with little depth behind it.

“This is what happens when you trade from your depth in the [Juan] Soto deal,” C-Lo said.
