The Yankees have released their lineup for game two of 162, and it has quite a different look from its predecessor.
As manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday, Gleyber Torres is in the starting lineup, batting seventh and playing second base after starting the season on the bench. He logged a game-tying sacrifice fly in extra innings in a pinch-hit role in Friday’s Opening Day victory.
Josh Donaldson is leading off again, but in a DH role, while DJ LeMahieu, Friday’s second baseman, moves over to third. Giancarlo Stanton, the Opening Day DH, is in right field, shifting Aaron Judge over to center and making Aaron Hicks the odd man out.
Boone has said it will be a constant shuffle of the lineup with Hicks, LeMahieu, Donaldson, and Torres, and with Stanton now a candidate for outfield time. But he has made it clear that everyone will see regular playing time.
