It’s safe to say Yankee fans missed baseball.
In the team’s first spring Opening Day since 2019, the Bombers’ afternoon clash with the Blue Jays generated the most viewers ever for a weekday afternoon season opener, the YES Network announced on Saturday morning.
The game averaged 543,000 viewers in the New York designated market area, making it the second-most viewed weekday telecast ever for YES, and it was YES’ most viewed regular season telecast in nearly three years.
Thursday’s game also generated over 72,000 unique viewers streaming the game, making it the most streamed YES game ever.
Of course, those viewers likely walked away frustrated as the Yanks squandered multiple late-inning rallies and lost in extra innings.
