The Yankees have made the Juan Soto trade official, and while many expect focus to shift to Yoshinobu Yamamoto, The Athletic reports that the Yanks are also looking at potential bullpen help.

According to Brendan Kuty and Chris Kirschner, the Yankees have interest in signing reliever Jordan Hicks, as the Bombers will certainly need to add some bullpen help after parting with four pitchers to acquire Soto on Wednesday night.

Hicks is a flamethrowing righty, averaging over 100 mph for his career, though his control sometimes can slip, as he walked over 11 percent of batters that he faced last season. Between the Cardinals and Blue Jays last season, Hicks posted a 3.29 ERA.

Hicks underwent Tommy John surgery in 2019, and the 27-year-old is one of the more high-profile relievers available on the free agent market.
