Atlanta Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos joined Dukes & Bell and talked about having no concerns with Max Fried taking the mound with so little work on the mound in the last ten days.

Anthopoulos talked about having no concerns on Max Fried pitching tomorrow after a long layoff.

"Ideally we would have had more innings and more work out of him. The one thing is he's been stretched out and has pitched deep in to games. It's not ideal, but it's not like it's been three weeks or anything like that at all,” Anthopoulos said. “He’s not too far removed. I think if we had gotten to 20 or 25 days there would have been a little more concern. Right in that 10-12 day area we’re not overly concerned. I think if anything, if there are concerns it’s is there any rust and will he be as sharp?”

“A lot of people talk about how young our team is," Atlanta's GM continued. "But with Max, this is his third time through now going through the playoffs. Yes he’s young, but it’s not like it’s the first time. He had to pitch important innings against LA in 2018, was really key for us last year against the Cardinals, so he’s starting to get a lot of experience so we feel really good about him being able to take the ball tomorrow.”
