Bills sign Stephen Hauschka to a two-year extension

The Buffalo Bills have locked up kicker Stephen Hauschka for another two years, despite a couple of missed field goals this preseason.

Hauschka was terriffic in his first season with the Bills in 2017, converting 29-of-33 field goals, for an 88% success rate. That included going 7-of-9 from 50-plus yards. Bills fans might remember Hauschka nailing a couple of really long field goals that led to a early-season road win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Last season, Hauschka took a step back, making almost 10% fewer of his field goals. His 78.6% rate had the Bills ranked 26th in the NFL in field goal percentage. Hauschka, himself, finished 28th among kickers.

At the very least, we know that "Hausch Money" is money when it comes to extra points. He's missed just one in two seasons with the Bills.

If Hauschka can return to 2017 form, the Bills will be much better off for signing him to this deal. They ranked 10th in field goal percentage that season. If Hauschka has another year like last season, maybe he won't see the end of his new contract.
