Not only did the Buffalo Bills come away with a 24-16 preseason-opening win over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, the team escaped the contest relatively healthy along the way.
Head coach Sean McDermott met with the media on Friday afternoon and gave an update of his injured players:
Conor McDermott is in concussion protocol. Bodine has an oblique strain. Jason Croom will do individual. Micah Hyde will be limited, along with Taron Johnson and Jerry Hughes.

Here is some of what McDermott said with the media:
McDermott on the overall effort:
"Both sides of the football won at their lines of scrimmage. Linebackers and safeties supported the run defense the way they needed to."
McDermott on Christian Wade running back to the huddle after scoring his touchdown:
"I don't think we covered that with him... what happens after you score. It was a great moment. Great to see a guy that's come from nowhere with football and shown great perseverance along the way."
McDermott on icing the kicker:
"We talk about situational football quite a bit. Preseason is a time to educate your players on situational football. That was nothing other than putting our players in a position to learn from."
McDermott on challenging pass interference:
"It's going to be unique. Across the league, we are still trying to learn how this will affect the game."
McDermott on Senorise Perry:
"I have been impressed with him. He is big, fast and physical and most importantly he understands his role. That's important for us as we move forward. You can feel him when he is catching and running the football."
McDermott on the offensive line:
"By in large, our quarterbacks had time in the pocket. They did some good things all night, for sure."
