Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner were both in San Jose, California this past weekend, representing the Buffalo Sabres at the 2019 NHL All-Star festivities.

Both forwards found the back of the net in the 3-on-3 Tournament at the NHL All-Star game, however, the Atlantic division fell to the Metropolitan Division 7-4 in the tournament semifinals.

Eichel netted the first goal for the Atlantic, burying a feed from Boston Bruins winger David Pastrnak to cut the Metro's lead in half to 2-1.

It was all Metropolitan after that, who advanced to the finals to beat the Central Division by a 10-5 score. Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby was named the All-Star Game MVP after contributing eight total points (four goals and four assists).

On Friday night, Eichel and Skinner participated in the NHL All-Star Skills Competition.

Eichel had a strong showing in the Fastest Skater competition, finishing with a 13.582-second run. The Sabres captain ended up placing second, behind Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, who recorded a 13.378-second run to win the event for a second straight year.

Skinner was the third among eight skaters in the Puck Control Relay and finished the event in 35.407-seconds. Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau won the event with a time of 27.045-seconds.

Both forwards also participated in the Save Streak event. New York Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist won it all with 14 saves in a row, however, he was denied his 15th save by Skinner, who beat him to the left post.
